Since Esme, my second child was born, I have been tired. All the time. In the beginning that is normal but after 2,5 years when I no longer get woken up at night and I am somewhat back to a normal work/life routine I should NOT be feeling depleted every day.
I went to the doctor, who saw no issues with my blood work. I noticed that iron tablets gave me a little boost in energy sometimes, but not always. I tried so many things but nothing worked.
Then I happened to see some posts from @glucosegoddess on Instagram that perked my interest. I have learned about glucose spikes for dogs when they eat a lot of carbs but I never thought it could be affecting me. I bought her book The Glucose Goddess Method and started implementing her 4 steps. Low and behold… I got my energy back!!!
After week 1 of her method, where the ONLY thing I had to do was implement more protein into my breakfast I felt amazing. No need for iron pills or buckets of coffee. I had energy all day. I started eating 2 eggs every morning and with this simple step I felt alive again. It was SO easy.
So I want to share this with you all, in case you need an energy boost. Try a protein rich breakfast and see how you feel. It doesn’t have to be eggs, it could be any protein and you can mix and match as you want. An additional perk is that my sugar cravings have decreased loads too.
