This is the story about me…
Many of you might remember me as the dog walker and petsitter who lived in Edinburgh, Scotland a few years ago, or maybe as the dog mum to a big lovable Rottweiler called Stella. Or maybe you don’t know me at all…but let’s change that why don’t we! ????
Dogs, horses and all animals have been a huge interest of mine since I was little. My parents reluctantly let me have a dog, a cocker spaniel called Mysan, when I was 13 years old. I did everything with this dog and even though she was a massive resource guarder and ran away as soon as she got the chance, I loved her. She sadly got sick and died when she was only a few years old.
Fast forward 15 years and I had just started my own company and was working from home. I now had time for a dog…Enter a puppy Rottweiler called Stella. 6 months passed and I realised it is way more fun playing with Stella than working, so I started my dog career as a dog boarder and dog walker in Edinburgh so I got to play with dogs all day long. I got to take care of, and walk so many amazing dogs over the next few years and it gave me a brilliant crash course in dog behaviour from the start.
At the same time Stella started becoming reactive towards other dogs on the walk. I hired a dog trainer and honestly it didn’t help much. So, I decided to learn myself. I jumped on any course I could find and I also started helping out every week at a local dog training school. My interest grew every day and after 2 years of learning I started my own classes. It was SO much fun and I loved it so much.
In 2016 we decided to move back to Sweden, where I’m from. Stella loved her new country life and her little brother Bruce came to live with us just a few months after we moved.
I started having classes in Sweden and with every year that passed I grew more impatient with the hamster wheel it is to have weekly classes. I knew there was something else I had to do. I decided to do an online course just for reactive dogs. It was so popular and I loved it so much that after gathering courage for a year or so I decided to stop my weekly classes (or corona forced me to be honest ????) and only work with stressed and reactive dogs. Now I see that ever since Stella came in to my life, this is what I was supposed to do. It’s been a long and winding road but I love every client I work with and the pure joy of helping them achieve a calmer life is so rewarding.
Hopefully there will be many, many more years helping dog mums achieve calm and harmony in their life.❤️
